Here at Neighbourhood Wine we believe in seasonality, simplicity and making reference to traditional cooking. Our aim is to take the best produce offered at any particular time of the year and turn it into something beautiful to enjoy.
Head chef Almay Jordaan grew up on a farm outside of Cape Town, South Africa, where the seasons played a large part in what the family ate. That practice and the philosophy behind it has driven her approach to food, produce and cooking ever since. Provenance and sustainability are very important to us and both are integral in our kitchen.

Our wine list sourced by Simon Denman shows a particular interest in low-interference winemaking principles and endeavours to couple this with the best of what classic wine regions from both the old world and new have to offer. Our aim is to create an ever-changing, constantly-growing list highlighting different regions, varieties and vintages across the globe. With this in mind the selection tends towards championing wines of a more minimal intervention, lo-fi approach. We believe this allows the provenance and vintage of the wine to shine through. This practice of working with an international range of artisanal winemakers who typically produce wine in smaller quantities, allows us the flexibility to create a diverse and dynamic list.
The list encompasses the most exciting of what we think local winemakers are producing right now, as well as international wines that stand out from the everyday.
We also offer 20-odd wines by the glass across multiple styles and varieties that are both enjoyable to drink, and complement the ever-changing food menu. With around 400 wines on the list at any given time, there’s always something new and interesting to try.
Two Course A La Carte Menu – 55 per person
House made naturally leavened sourdough to start, followed by a choice between three smaller dishes & three larger dishes. Additional snacks are available, as well as extra courses should you feel the need.
Sunday Roast – 55 per person
Changing with the weather and the best seasonal produce available, our $55 per person set Three-course roast is available every Sunday lunch until 5pm or until sold out.
Saturday Long Lunch – 95 per person
Our 95 per person long lunch includes three-courses with bottomless house vino for duration of meal. Please contact us direct to find out what the menu is this week. We can cater to any specific dietary requirements.
